I don't really use suncream much even though I know I should as I have quite fair skin and get burnt easily. The main areas that I tend to burn are my arms and the parting in my hair which can be quite painful! Obviously there isn't much I can do as you can't really put suncream in your hair! Today i'm reviewing the Liz Earle Mineral Suncream* which i've been trying on the odd occasion there's some sun in the UK!
My first impressions of the Liz Earle suncream were good, it had a creamy consistency which had a light golden colour so there was less chance of it being white and streaky. I rubbed it into my arms and found that it was quite thick and it was really difficult to get it to soak in. A few hours later it still felt like it was sat on my skin and felt quite greasy which isn't a nice feeling in hot weather. It did eventually soak in but took about 5 hours and by then there wasn't any sun left anyway. The second time I tried this I used it when it was around 28c and I did get burnt through it. For me i'd like it if Liz Earle offered this with an SPF of 30 or higher so that it is suitable for using in really hot weather both in the UK and abroad. I did like the scent of this as it was quite herbal which is similar to a lot of the other Liz Earle products.
Overall I was disappointed with this product as i've liked nearly every product i've tried by Liz Earle before so I was expecting a really nice product. I like quite thin suncreams in spray bottles that soak in quickly and have a high SPF so it would be good if Liz Earle could bring out something similar.
Thanks for the review - it's really hard to tell what a sunscreen is going to be like until you actually use it...I was thinking of getting this but I rdon't like the sound of it taking so long to sink in. I prefer thinner suncreams too as I hate my skin feeling greasy, especially when it's hot! x
