Collection Trio Eyeshadow Palette

A few weeks ago I picked up this pretty eyeshadow trio by Collection and I had a few requests to write a review and show swatches of it.

Out of the three shades I really like the taupe one on the right but I think they all go nicely together. When I swatched these for the first time I wasn't that impressed. The pigmentation is quite poor and they all looked relatively similar and were all the same shimmery colours. My favourite eyeshadows are Sleek and Urban Decay ones and in comparison the Collection ones aren't really up to much.

I didn't want to completely give up on it though so I swatched it again over Urban Decay Primer Potion. This definitely made a difference as the colours were a lot bolder and the shimmeryness of them really stood out so a primer is a must have if you want to make these colours work for you.

There are quite a few different colours in the range including 'Cookie Dough' which has a slightly darker array of colours compared to 'Sandcastle'. I actually got this trio for free as Collection products were on 3 for 2 (you can see the 'haul' post here) but it usually retails at £2.99 from Boots which I think is affordable for what you're getting. To be honest i'd recommend paying £3 more for the Sleek Storm Palette which offers a wider range of pigmented shades.

  2. Oh that is reassuring since I have a pallete by them and it looks nice but there is such a POOOR pigmentation that its made me chuck it to the back of my collection. Maybe I should try it now I own a primer!

  3. The primer makes such a difference although definitely agree that the Sleek palettes are a much better buy. x

  4. Wow, it's amazing the difference a primer makes! Pretty colours, but the Storm palette is a much better bargain :)
