And You Fight Like A Little Contender

.1. I went to another uni open day on Wednesday which meant that I only went to 6th Form for 3 days instead of 5, love it! I enjoyed the open day but the accommodation really put me off even though the course is good. I don't want to go to uni and be really unhappy because of where i'm living as I know it will ruin the experience and to me it's important that I find some accommodation i'm completely happy with. There is some nice accommodation but not many first years stay in it so i'd feel like I was missing out if I stayed there. It's safe to say i've got a lot of thinking to do!

.2. Yesterday I went to my friend's for a girls night in. It was a really good night and after realising that we'll all be going our separate ways in just 6 months i'm starting to appreciate the time i've got left with them. 6th Form isn't the nicest place to be as everyone is in firm friendship groups and it can be really bitchy so I feel lucky to have 5 good friends who I can spend my time with. We had a Chinese takeaway, watched Take Me Out (i'm still in shock at Lucy getting a date!) and lots of drunken secrets were shared ;)

.3. I'm going to try and give up chocolate, biscuits and general rubbish for Lent. I'm not a religious person but I want to prove to myself that I can stick to something and the satisfaction of completing it will be worth it! I'm definitely going to enjoy some really tasty pancakes on Tuesday before the real challenge begins! I'm hoping it will help me to be a bit healthier too; Jess's post about body confidence is really worth reading and it has inspired me to make a few changes in the hope i'll become a bit happier with the way I look.

  1. Good luck with your lent challenge! I gave up cakes/biscuits/chocolate a few years ago for lent and haven't looked back - it really made me realised that I didn't need those things in my diet and made me feel a lot healthier and in control. I still have naughty food occasionally though and am also very excited for Pancake Day on Tuesday :) x

  3. You are absolutely right to really consider where you are living when at uni - while my first years halls were nice, the house I lived in in my last year was absolutely terrible and it ruined the year for me. Its much better to be picky than settle! Good luck, I hope you find the right uni for you soon :) xxx

  4. When I first started Uni I was worried that my BFFs would sort of forget about me. I feel stupid for thinking it now. Everytime I go home to see them is great and it's like we were never apart. Plus I've made some great Uni friends too! x

  5. im giving up chocolate for lent too, we should keep each other on the straight and narrow!

picking the perfect uni is hard and i tried to find the perfect accommodation too. however if everything else about it is good then you may find it doesnt bother you as much.

in my first year in our flat we all had en-suites. my flatmate went to america for a semester and had to share showers and loos (and even a room!) with other people and said she got really used to it :) x

  6. I visited a few unis last year and found the accomodation a but crap! Luckily I got an offer from my 1st choice which is local, so I can stay at home.

I never do anything for Lent, but as for sticking to something I'm now doing 60 situps every night :D I even made a little chart to keep up to date lol! Plus when I look at it and see how much I've done it will be like a mini achievement!

  9. I can completely relate to number 1. I'm torn between Sheffield and London atm and I think it'll all come down to what I think of the Sheffield accommodation when I go to the open day! I have a looot of thinking to do too and I don't have long to decide :/
Thank you for putting me as one of your few to follow; that's really sweet of you :) x
