I Eat Mainely Lobster is a corally red by OPI which has a tiny hint of shimmer. This is the perfect kind of colour for me as I tend to stick to block colours so the tiny bit of glitter adds something different. At the minute my nails are super short; I don't really like them too long as they always seem to get damaged and I find that brighter colours seem to look better when they're this length too.
OPI polishes are really good quality with a thin consistency and flat brush which makes application easy. I found that two coats were enough and it dried quickly too. I like the flat brush but for my fingers I do find that it is a little bit big so there's usually some polish on my fingers which I have to clean up afterwards. At £6.95 this polish is a similar price to a lot of high street brands but I don't think I would pay as much as £11.50 for any of their new collection range.
I feel like the last blogger to try a matte topcoat and to be honest I don't really know why it took me so long to get one. I wasn't sure what i'd think so instead of choosing an expensive one I opted for the ELF Matte Finisher which cost me just £2.50. You apply it in the same way as you would with any other nail polish and it dries almost instantly giving you the effect in one coat. I love how easy it is to change the way a nail polish looks and I love the way it looks painted over I Eat Mainely Lobster! I'm looking forward to trying it out with all my other polishes and i'm sure i'll have lots more to share soon.
Ooh gorgeous shade! I really like Matte nails, they're especially cool if the base polish is a shimmer! x
